Service As Part Of The Fabric Of Love

Photo taken in South Africa almost one year ago.  Another circle.  Beauty of nature and now a deeper appreciation for its service.

Remarkable teaching today.  I have been looking at how to be in service in the world.  Is service motivated by one's ego or is service offered with a pure intention of giving, helping, aiding...  While living in India, I have had more time to investigate service to animals, children, handicapped, women, elder, etc. How much is the duty of government and how much is the duty of the individual?  Is most of it a bandaid effect.  Is there a solution?  Is education the root? (no absolute answer--only process.)

Gurudev feels the underlying nature of all is to serve. He reminded me that nature (wind, sun, water...), animals, virtually everything is in service in some way.  Mother in service to the child, child later is in service to the parent, service to others out of love, service from love of self... The seed for service starts at the point of love, but then with the human condition it can get distorted.  Now I understand the third track to the Divine--one of service.  All paths lead to oneness/love/Divine.

Bottom line--everything is in the fabric of love.  Love, love, love...

All is a cycle, so there is no reason to hang on either.

We must love ourselves as well as others.

I feel like I am decorating a remarkable piece of jewelry and each of these teachings is a gem which is striking alone or as part of a collection.  So touching and beautiful.
