Ganesha Celebration

Ganesha statue

What a lovely afternoon for a celebration.  The Ganesha statue that lives over the entry way to the ashram got a facelift today.  It was interesting to see the cleaning, layer of paint, and then silver foil that were applied to the surface.  Always fascinating to watch the stages of the ritual too.  As I was taking it all in,  I reflected that the only formal "ritualistic" services I have typically attended at home were funerals or memorial services.  Here there are so many positive services.
