Needing clarification around the word desire used in the Gita. Is desire everything? Does desire apply to the essentials of living such as food, clothing, housing, etc.? Where is the line for desire vs. necessity? Gurudev said the Indian language has many words to describe desire, so it is easier to differentiate the different types of desire. English only has the one word, so he agreed that would make it too limiting. He doesn't classify essentials for survival as desires, but as points to create motivation for work and to take steps forward. These steps can ultimately lead to the spiritual path and greater consciousness. More markers or steps on the path to liberation.
