Guru's Feet

Learned a lot more about Gurus, Divine Geneaology, Guru's feet/big toe, touching the feet, individual styles of the Gurus, pranam, their heart capacity/desire to open the heart for service, and more.  AMAZING!!!  Not too many Beings can field these topics/questions from firsthand experience.  I was hoping to leave India without having such a phobia around Gurudev's feet and to better understand why people want to touch them   Almost every time that I have touched them, there has been some vision or download that results.  Nothing bad, but a bit shocking at times.  I have now learned that not all Guru's let you touch their feet or them personally at all, so it is a a privilege for those who have the desire.  For now, pranam from a distance is fine with me.  Just being in his energy field and physical presence is grace beyond words for me.

FROM GURUDEV'S POSTER:

Beloved Self,

Have you ever seen the Sun's rays differentiate between the different species on Earth?
Does the wind, which is the main source of life on Earth, differentiate between large or small species?
When has the Earth ever refused taking the weight of any being?
Where has the Sky said that it will give shade only to one species and not to another?
When you go to a stream or river will it ever refuse to share its pure water?
Flames always point upwards, little drops of water make the mighty ocean.
You may try to douse the volcano from the outside but it will continue to bubble within. It gives heat, it inspires us to go ahead and not be cowed down by external elements.
Whenever we are very close to Nature we discover that all the elements mentioned above co-exist. We find the five elements are not 'artificial' but present always and there is always energy.
We find these qualities in sages and saints. The simple flow of love energy runs through every nerve in their body and mind and flows endlessly from them. It is not forbidden to anyone. The only fact to be realized is that the receiver gets only as much as he has the capacity to receive love, but he definitely receives!
When the seed is sown it becomes a sapling, then a plant, then a tree. Then it becomes a fruit, and effortlessly the seed is formed which is inherent in the fruit because the seed is ever-present.
From the very beginning of the Universe, it is an uncontested fact that sages and saints are full of love for every being. It is inborn. The desire to do things that are beneficial to all is very natural. This desire becomes life-giving energy like the wave, the wind and the Sun's rays.
The saints are personified as the tree under whose shade (leaves) all beings find peace. They (the saints and sages) are like the trees which give us fuel and also light those trees which are around them, just as only a flame can light a wick and thus spread the fire.
These saints never had any ego-sense as the giver of strength and energy to others. It is like an ornament that adorns them - the ever-kindling light they spread among humanity.
The worthy, holy Baba is born just for this - it does seem so to all of us who visit him and feel like they have had a dip in the river-like nectar of love. He makes each one feel that all have these qualities within their physical bodies. This is praise-worthy.
Whatever one's nature is, calm down and think, pause and each one will realize that this natural truth is memorable. One should prostrate oneself on such a realization. May you experience his pure simplicity, divinity and loving nature when he embraces you.

The Universal Heart

While test driving my Gurudev meditation rug, "the voice" came up with a question? I thought I had gotten through the veils, but I found one that had been created from this experience--a new veil.   This experience has completely rearranged my thinking and life will never be the same, so how do I fit back into Western Society?  The square peg in the round hole theory appeared to be at work.   If I stayed in an Eastern culture it would be the same only from a different aspect.  No regrets for the journey, but the reentry is a question mark.

After mulling on it all day, I had a chance to ask Gurudev his thoughts.  He said that what I was saying was fact, but not to forget that all people's hearts are the same--even if the exterior looks different, society, way of life, beliefs, etc.   The absolute truth of human existence and its connection to the Divine.

The Question Was Humans and Not America

Strolled at the Amer Clark Hotel's vintage car show--taking in the Western World.

Someone asked me to make a list of what I do and don't miss about America.  Of course it got me thinking and I could write a very long list of what I miss and a very short list of what I don't miss, (actually the only thing on the list will be Gurudev and a few keen friends that I have made here.)  As usual, the question prompted me to go deeper, since in principle, "I am not living with attachments." (Walking down a street that has a place for pedestrians with rules that the traffic obeys (most of the time), with minimal trash, knowing that there is a bathroom facility in every business,  drinkable water, no fear of food poisoning at any restaurant (it can happen, of course), wearing whatever clothes that I desire, going unnoticed being myself... Yes, I have preferences.)

The motivation for this path was never about America or being an American.  I did that search in my twenties. I have worked and travelled in enough places around the world to know that I really like California.  My seeking has been about the human race, what lives inside, behavior, ethics, culture, intelligence, society, and so on.  Is there an Absolute Truth that exists at some point that the human race was built on, since our strength is suppose to rely on our potential consciousness?  Is there something beyond life on the Earth planet, Mars, Venus, or what ever cosmos we can imagine? What about reincarnation? God? Spirituality? Religion?  Those types of questions.

I have learned that being in a "spiritual" country doesn't mean everyone is spiritual by default.  It is a personal path and a lot of hard work in some lifetime.  No free lunch so to speak even with grace involved.  One of the rubs going back to a democratic, Western thinking country is that it costs money to have "nice" things.  People tend to work hard if they want a "nice" life.  So whether I have no attachments or not, they still require money and making a living.   The cost of living is higher.  Sadhu's would have a harder time in our community.  Orange robes wouldn't guarantee respect.

I wish I could take her home with me.

No Surprise

Ashram flower

With the looking at the last veil, I figured that I would either need to die again or get sick.  The option for sickness appeared to be the one.  Some kind of body rewiring that appears to happen after these big shifts.

While resting, I took the time to reread the entire blog from start to finish.  What have I been doing? Does it make sense?  Do I have the tools as I step out of the physical presence of the ashram and the Divine Geneaology?  It is all here.  I see the concentric circles as I step between the physical and spiritual world. How the ego's history and life's challenges creates separation and then inspires me to to go deeper for solutions.  How the lessons are the same, but at a new layer.  How the mystery unfolds...

I have been living pretty much in silence, no phone, no texting--only the blog and emailing for 6 months--7 by the time I reach home.  My life will never be the same.  I don't know what is next.  People that I know might not understand there will be an adjustment.  This was not a spiritual vacation.  It was a spiritual cauldron of boiling oil.  To talk about it will need to be through personal questions.  I am very willing to share, but there is no need to try and share something that is not relevant.  I see that it is like my other worlds of riding/dancing that I have pursued at the deepest levels.  Many won't understand, many aren't interested, some are curious, some are ready, some are hungry... it doesn't matter.  We are all humans taking part of the Earth's Drama Production in some capacity.
